Why it matters

A damaged charging cable is both a safety hazard and a potentially expensive repair. Catching worn insulation or a cracked connector early prevents a much more serious failure.

How to do it

    Unplug the cable from the car and wall unit.

    Inspect the full cable length for cuts, abrasions, kinks, or melted areas.

    Check the connector pins for corrosion or bent contacts.

    Inspect the wall mount for moisture around the outlet and secure mounting.
