Drain and refill hot tub
Why it matters
Hot tub water accumulates total dissolved solids over time that chemicals can no longer balance. Skin irritation, cloudy water, and foam are signs the water is exhausted. Fresh water restores chemical effectiveness.
Stop forgetting to do this.
HomeOS generates a personalized maintenance schedule so you never miss another drain and refill hot tub.
How to do it
- 1
Test TDS levels (over 1,500 ppm means drain time).
- 2
Turn off the heater and pump.
- 3
Drain using the drain spigot or a submersible pump.
- 4
Wipe down the shell with a non-abrasive cleaner and rinse.
- 5
Clean the filter.
- 6
Refill and balance chemistry before reheating.
