Clean & Oil Sauna Benches & Walls

Why it matters

Salt and sweat resin corrode wood, cause splinters, and harbor bacteria; annual cleaning prevents deterioration and keeps sauna comfortable.

How to do it

  Cool sauna completely and allow interior to dry

  Mix warm water with a drop of dish soap in a bucket

• 3

  Scrub benches and walls with a soft-bristled brush to remove salt and resin

• 4

  Rinse with a damp cloth; let dry; apply food-grade mineral oil to any dry-looking wood
