Service Crawlspace Dehumidifier
Why it matters
Clogged dehumidifier filters and blocked condensate drains reduce moisture control capacity by 50%+, allowing RH to spike above 65%—creating mold, rotting structural wood, and damaging insulation. Annual service prevents $1500–3000+ in remediation.
Stop forgetting to do this.

How to do it
- 1
Locate the crawlspace dehumidifier (usually Aprilaire or Santa Fe brand mounted on joist or wall).
- 2
Check the filter location and remove the old filter; note the size (typically 14×25 or 16×25).
- 3
Install a new filter of identical size; do not stack filters or use oversized ones.
- 4
Trace the condensate drain line from the unit to its termination (sump pump, floor drain, or exterior).
- 5
Flush the drain line with a wet/dry vacuum or gentle garden hose spray to clear algae and debris.
- 6
Verify humidistat display reads correct RH and turn on unit for a 5-minute test cycle; mist should appear within the enclosure.
