How to do it
- 1
Turn off jets and circulation; wait 10 minutes for water to settle.
- 2
Collect sample from wrist-deep water, away from returns or drains.
- 3
Test pH with test strips or kit; target 7.2–7.6 for sanitizer efficiency.
- 4
Test free sanitizer level: chlorine 2–4 ppm, or bromine 3–5 ppm.
- 5
Test alkalinity; adjust with pH increaser or decreaser as needed.
- 6
Record results and add chemicals per test kit or manual instructions.
