How to do it

Walk the exterior and examine caulk joints around each window and door.

Press gently — good caulk is still flexible; failed caulk is brittle and cracks.

Remove old caulk with a putty knife or caulk remover.

Apply painter's tape for clean lines.
- 5
Apply 100% silicone or paintable silicone caulk in a continuous bead.

Smooth with a wet finger and remove tape before it dries.
